"So there is one more mission trip opportunity that seniors can go on!" - Pastor Enter (approx. 2 weeks ago)
Seven seniors were selected to go to Panama City, Florida to help with hurricane cleanup. Hurricane Michael hit the gulf in October of 2018. Panama city was hit hard and there was widespread damage.
The group left St. Croix around 11:15 AM and headed for the airport where they had subway for lunch. As Lil' Raf has let everyone know, "Sandwiches are fancier NOT toasted."
Our first flight leaves MSP at 2:10. Please keep us in your prayers as we fly to St. Louis to catch the second flight to Panama City. We are scheduled to arrive at 6:05 PM where we are being picked up in a "white creeper van". We are curious if it says free candy. Stay tuned for an update once we arrive!
UPDATE:
We have landed in St. Louis. Next flight leaves at 4:30PM
The plane rides were relatively uneventful. There was some turbulence flying in and out of St. Louis. Both of our flights landed about 20 minutes early!
Once to the parsonage (church-owned home), where we would be staying, we ate a ham dinner and received our instructions for the week. We got to know the other's who would be doing mission work. They are a family of 6 from Colorado Springs but previously lived in Inver Grove Heights. The dad also went to St. Croix. Tomorrow we are installing insulation in a home while the family finishes clearing a property of brush.
P.S. Watch out for the clever blog titles :)
